iSmoothRun App Reviews

Tried them all

Tried them all and if you are training this is by far the best of the best. I have used this app for years now and never been disappointed. Its as accurate as the iPhone can be. The app is solid! If there is a problem or question the company replies RIGHT back. The programmer actually uses the app and knows what his demanding customers want. It has all you can need for running a marathon. I dont do all the other stuff but the programmer does so it works!

Best running app there is!

Comprehensive running features. Never encountered any bugs. Best running app out there! I like that it exports data to different running sites and raw data to Dropbox. Now I have complete control over my data!

Best fitness tracking app

Ive tried many other apps but this is the only one I come back to. Works flawlessly with all my Bluetooth sensors. App is updated constantly. All my data is uploaded to various fitness sites automatically. I use it for all my workouts.

ISR fails to write heart data to iHealth

The key feature I expected to use buying this app was collecting heart rate data from my Polar H7 HRN and writing it into iHealth. Unfortunately, this feature while enabled does not work and forces me to go back to Polar Beat. I sent 2 messages to tech support but NO response.

Update not compatible with iPad

App update is not compatible with iPad. Update continuously tries to reinstall itself which in turn consumes a considerable amount of wifi resources and speed. Unable to delete the update or app even using a Mac. Please fix ASAP!!!

Best running app out

This app has been pivotal in my half-marathon training. Far better than anything else in the App Store. It gives me the stats I need and allows me to do what I wish with my run data. Dont give the app a 1 star review based on how the Apple Watch performs, which is out of the developers control.

Most reliable and accurate app out there

Most comprehensive set of features too.

Worth the price.

Love this app. I tried about every free app and decided to pay for this after I got tired of all the unnecessary features that clutter every free app. Havent looked back since. Simple, full featured, and lets me stay focused on my run.

Wonderful run/walk app!

I have tried several apps and the ability to use both GPS/Pedometer makes this one my preferred one. Perfect when doing indoor exercise on the treadmill.

By far the best for Apple Watch

Ive tried them all, strava, runtastic, and many others. This one is by far the best in terms of features for Apple Watch. Heart rate etc... I did notice it would be off on distance by about .15-.20 after a 5 mile run when I compare it to a garmin watch. But I feel thats not too bad. Highly recommend this one.

Needs music controls

This app needs the ability to run the music from within the app. In order to change or skip a song, I have to go out of the app and thus it no longer provides voice prompts. Too bad this app hasnt developed better. More apps are doing this now and this app needs to raise the bar. I have tried almost every running app and this one is a reasonably good one. It has a fixed purchase price (no ongoing subscription fees), provides all running details without creating an account and is easy to navigate and reasonably easy to read outdoors in the sunlight. A couple of things that need improvement: The graphs need to be improved... a lot!! They offer little to no info. The pace vs elevation graph is poor at best, nothing like most other apps. Also, no idea what the path colors blue green yellow mean on the map display. No legend. And again, this app needs music control, even just the basic ones like skipping a song would be an improvement.

Almost perfect

This is the one, folks. Great audio, multiple exports, auto pause, etc. Only wish there were better per-sport settings. In particular, I have to manually switch auto-pause on for running and off for indoor cycling. And there doesnt seem to be an ability to set per-sport dashboards, which would also be awesome. That said, iSmoothRun is almost perfect, and highly recommended.

Does not save workouts, No support . All workouts lost

No email support chat support or phone support. Unacceptable for a paid app. Created about 10 different training workouts That included a lot of settings. Was very tedious to set them up but or excellent work outs . There is no login for this app consequently if you switch phones you will lose all of your settings and it is as if you never existed. You have been warned do not buy this app for the workouts.

Works well

Biggest differentiator: easy access and export of my data.

My favorite

This is the bees knees of running apps. Fast, customizable, easy to use, exports to everything. And no subscription fees. I love it.

Great!

I am a heavy strava run user, but I wanted a few run features it didnt have - in particular I wanted cadence tracking, also wanted my heart rate and cadence announced at mile intervals along with my split time. This does that perfectly, and has a customizable auto-upload to strava. Using a Polar H7 and iPhone 6+ w/latest iOS beta. Great so far!

Please Update for IPad

This is my go to training app. I use it personally on my iPhone with Apple health. At the same time I have students that I like to track their HR on my iPad, however I cant update the latest version. Please fix the download issue with next update to make this a five star review.

Best running app (esp for Pebble runners!)

This app is awesome. Worth every cent. I was trying out all the Pebble compatible running apps on iOS and was frustrated at the lack of customization of what is displayed on the Pebble screen during a run. iSmoothRun is a great running app besides the great Pebble support. Youre able to export to many different running apps all at once and it doesnt require a yearly fee to unlock any of its features. One upfront cost and you get everything.

Best running app by far

Ive tried almost every running app available and not only is this the most configurable app out there, but it supports almost every major online running community. I can now share my runs with my friends regardless of which app they use or community they belong to. Another feature in iSmoothRun that I find highly underrated is the auto pause. Most apps use GPS for auto pause, but the lag is so bad that they often dont pause until Ive started running again. That makes my runs look slower and my distances shorter, iSmoothRun uses the motion sensor for auto pause (even when using GPS to track speed and distance.) It stops when I stop and it starts when I start. Its the attention to the little details that make this app the best.

Leaves the competition in the dust

When I started running, I tried out a bunch of apps. I liked what they offered, but I just wasnt keen on the whole subscription model. I knew nothing of iSmoothRun until I got my Pebble Time smartwatch. Although it had built in integration with both MapMyRun and RunKeeper (both of which a majority of my friends use), the apps on the watch were barely functional, and easily interruptable. What I most love about this app is that the type and way information is displayed on my watch is fully customizable. Also, when the app is running, I can exit out of it on my watch to change music, deal with texts and other notifications, and then return to the app. Its really full featured and everything is included in the very low price. It has everything and more than the competitors apps offer in their subscription versions. Best of all, all my runs can be exported to MapMyRun and RunKeeper, so I stay connected with friends using those apps.
